Demand for Electronic Gadgets

In a recent article in the San Diego Tribune, The California Technology Association (formerly the Consumer Electronics Association) quoted that 60% of Americans doing back-to-school shopping are expected to purchase electronic gadgets this year. This includes items like portable memory, calculators, headphones, protective cases for mobile devices, laptops, computer software, external hard drives, tablets and much more. The projected spend is at $18.5 Billion on tech products and accessories, which is 6.2% higher than last year.

The California Technology Association is an industry group representing the technology industry. Some of you may know a popular International annual trade show organized by the California Technology Association called CES, held annually in Las Vegas. The average number of attendees for this show is about 150,000 with people from all over the world.

Consumer buying behavior will continue to trend both in-store and online. Brands such as Waka Waka Power, Kindle Fire HD Kids, The Egg, Huawei Matebook and Soltrackr are some of the new releases this year which are attracting a lot of attention – attention from various age groups! The race to own any of these items is fast and when the sign goes up “Out of Stock” the consumer goes searching elsewhere. Distribution Centers and Retail outlets need to have a buttoned down supply chain program with a reliable, outstanding, on time transportation provider – and Total Transportation is well equipped and has proven to be the best in Southern California.

Total Transportation and Distribution is dedicated to servicing the especially high demand for consumer electronics in Southern California. “The company provides same day and next day trucking services to retail outlets, on pallets, with no trouble at all” says Brian Raub, Sales Director at Total. He continues to say that, “with the economy bouncing back and with demand increasing during this back-to-school month, it is important that there are no disruptions with delivery of goods to the store and ultimately the consumer.”

Total Transportation and Distribution has a fleet of over 100 tractors and trailers combined, with drivers who not only go the extra mile but have proven their worth through outstanding testimonials from existing customers. “In an era where drivers are tough to find, we value our drivers immensely, they go home every night and hence our retention rate has been incredible” says Tammy Stagner, Vice President of the company. She continues to say that “We are always looking for new drivers who either want to become an employee or provide trucking services as an independent contractor.”

Routing deliveries is a science and an art as well, with two shifts working on every case, we guarantee on time delivery for either same day or next day deliveries. There are specific cut-off times for work orders to be placed but our routing team faces every challenge and is solution driven. Make sure you review the companies routing map as it depicts clearly the number of Zipcodes serviced.

Total Transportation also works with Westset Logistics (a sister company) to provide top notch third party logistics (3PL) services.  Situated in La Mirada, CA near the ports of Long Beach, Los Angeles and LAX, the Class A building, secure, clean and international cloud based managed warehouse, is able to accommodate a variety of electronics products.

With its’ main terminal in Mira Loma, in the hub of significant logistics growth and establishments within the Inland Empire, Total Transportation and Distribution is strategically located to support Southern California’s logistics requirements. The company is also poised to partner up with national trucking companies to ensure that deliveries arrive on time. The Inland Empire has been growing significantly over the years with an influx in foreign and national businesses setting up distribution centers. A large German grocery outlet ALDI has chosen to have its’ main Distribution Center in the Inland Empire along with big name companies like Amazon.

It is however important to understand that Total Transportation is focused on bulk by pallet load trucking as opposed to the small parcel eCommerce style shipping. eCommerce deliveries are best left to the experts at FedEx, UPS or USPS.
